第二十五關(guān)：街市（Level 25 – Street Bazaar）

Lara走近受傷的士兵，對(duì)方拔出槍

Lara：Put your gun away! Azizus sent me!

【把槍拿開(kāi)！是Azizus叫我來(lái)的！】

士兵：Help me, Englisher. I bleed to death. I tried to hide, but those things…smell the blood on me.

【救救我，英國(guó)人。我流血太多，快不行了。我試著躲避，但是它們……能聞到我身上的血腥味?！?/p>

Lara：I’ve come for the mine frequency. I need to get back to Azizus through this rabbit warren with both my legs still intact.

【我是來(lái)找探雷器的。我可不能缺胳膊斷腿地從這個(gè)破地方回Azizus那兒去?！?/p>

（“rabbit warren”直譯為“養(yǎng)兔場(chǎng)”，引申為擁擠、破敗的地方。Lara的原話中只是說(shuō)“with both my legs still intact”地回去，指的是雙腿完好，并沒(méi)有提到她的胳膊，但是TombCrow認(rèn)為把它翻譯成“缺胳膊斷腿”并沒(méi)有歪曲Lara的原意，比起“雙腿完好地回去”也似乎更符合中文的表達(dá)習(xí)慣。）

士兵：I do a good job with the mines. Ahhh... Not that it does us any good. We are all dead or dying.

【那些地雷可是我的得意之作。唉……可它們沒(méi)派上一點(diǎn)用場(chǎng)！我們死的死傷的傷?！?/p>

士兵掏出探雷器

Lara：Where are the rest of you? I need those explosive codes!

【其他人都在哪里？我需要爆破代碼！】

士兵：Sahida, my colleague lies across the roof bridge in the mosque. As we retreated, something new that we had not encountered before came from the shadows like lightning and took his head.

【我的戰(zhàn)友Sahida正躺在清真寺的天橋上。我們撤退的時(shí)候，遭遇了一些以前從沒(méi)見(jiàn)過(guò)的東西，它們從閃電般的陰影中突然出現(xiàn)，劈下了他的腦袋?！?/p>

Lara：The codes?

【那代碼呢？】

士兵：Inside his head! Inside the creature!

【在他的腦袋里！在怪物身體里！】

Lara：I need those codes!

【我需要代碼！】

士兵：Search his body. I don’t know. Leave me for now for I am weak and wish to prepare myself for my God.

【（你可以）搜一下他的尸體。我也不知道（代碼在哪里）?，F(xiàn)在讓我一個(gè)人安安靜靜待著吧，我太虛弱了，已經(jīng)準(zhǔn)備去見(jiàn)上帝了?！?/p>

第二十三關(guān)：古堡大門（Level 23 －Citadel Gate）

第二次

Lara帶著Azizus來(lái)到卡車前

Azizus：You are a strong woman.

【你真是個(gè)了不起的女人?！?/p>

Lara：Lara! And you handled yourself pretty well - Sergeant! You’ve got the codes. What now?

【我叫勞拉。你的表現(xiàn)也很不錯(cuò)，長(zhǎng)官！你已經(jīng)得到了代碼，現(xiàn)在做什么呢？】

Azizus忽然把槍口對(duì)準(zhǔn)Lara

Azizus：After all we have been through, this is merely insurance.

【我們已經(jīng)經(jīng)歷這么多了，我現(xiàn)在這么做只是為了保險(xiǎn)起見(jiàn)。】

Lara：Against what?

【為什么？有什么危險(xiǎn)？】

Azizus：Against you trying to stop me from doing my duty. Somebody needs to drive that truck in there.

【你阻止我完成任務(wù)的危險(xiǎn)。要知道總得有人把卡車開(kāi)過(guò)去?！?/p>

Lara：Kamikaze....

【神風(fēng)隊(duì)員……】

（“Kamikaze”一看就知道是個(gè)外來(lái)詞了。這是二戰(zhàn)時(shí)期日本空軍敢死隊(duì)“神風(fēng)隊(duì)”的音譯。為了完成任務(wù)不惜犧牲生命的戰(zhàn)士的代名詞）

Azizus：Whatever it takes for god and my country.

【為了上帝還有我的祖國(guó)?！?/p>

Azizus上了卡車

Azizus：In the next life then, my friend.

【下輩子再見(jiàn)吧，我的朋友?！?/p>

第二十六關(guān)：古城堡（Level 26－Cidadel）

Lara進(jìn)入古堡，給Jean解開(kāi)繩子

Jean：Thank God you made it! Von Croy. . . I saw it myself. I would not have believed such a thing. He is possessed of Seth!

【謝天謝地，你終于來(lái)了！Von Croy……我看到了。真不敢相信，他被賽特的魔力控制了?！?/p>

（這里Jean說(shuō)“Von Croy. . . I saw it”，用了“it”－“它”，而不是“him”－“他”。我們可以把這理解為由于Von Croy已經(jīng)成為賽特的化身，Jean已經(jīng)不再認(rèn)為這家伙還算人類了，因此用了“it”來(lái)指代Von Croy?；蛘哒f(shuō)Jean在這里有意避開(kāi)了直接提及Von Croy，而是委婉地說(shuō)“我看到了這件事”，“it”指的不是Von Croy，而是代指Von Croy被賽特附身一事。而原因也是在于他不知道現(xiàn)在該如何稱呼Von Croy。TombCrow更傾向于后一種解釋。因?yàn)镴ean緊接著又說(shuō)了一句“I would not have believed such a thing”，把“such a thing”和前面那句話中的“it”聯(lián)系起來(lái)看，當(dāng)然是后一種解釋更為順暢。）

Lara：Get out of here, Jean. I have a feeling that things may turn nasty.

【快離開(kāi)這里吧，Jean，這兒越來(lái)越危險(xiǎn)了?！?/p>

Jean：He is digging under the Citadel into the Crusaders' vaults in search of the ceremonial tablet. The tablet which contains Seth's binding incantations. Be careful, Lara. I fear there are things in the vaults man was not meant to see.

【他在古堡下挖掘十字軍拱頂，試圖找到儀式石板。石板上記錄了囚禁賽特的咒語(yǔ)。要小心，Lara，恐怕那個(gè)拱頂里會(huì)有一些讓人（man）不愿意看到的東西?！?/p>

Lara：I am not a man, Jean, and I am always very, very careful.

【我不是“男人（man）”，Jean。還有，我總是非常，非常小心的?！?/p>

（Lara說(shuō)“I am not a man”，和下一句“I am always very, very careful”沒(méi)有任何的關(guān)系，而是承接Jean的話“man was not meant to see”的。Jean的那句話中“man”的意思當(dāng)然是指“人”，而Lara則巧妙地故意把它曲解為“男人”——因?yàn)檫@兩個(gè)意思是同一個(gè)詞：“man”。）

古堡下，Von Croy找到了石板

Von Croy：We have it. The ancient Ceremonial tablet. Take it and prepare it. . . and see if the Croft woman has arrived with our armor.

【我們找到它了。遠(yuǎn)古的儀式石碑。拿好了……去看看Croft那個(gè)女人是不是帶著我們的鎧甲來(lái)了?！?/p>

本關(guān)結(jié)束，Von Croy陰沉地召喚Lara

Von Croy：Come in, Lara. I have been expecting you. Come to me, child. Do not fear your old colleague. I merely require the armor that you hold in your possession.

【進(jìn)來(lái)呀，Lara。我在等你。到這里來(lái)，孩子。不要害怕你的老朋友。我只是需要你得到的鎧甲?！?/p>

Lara：And in return. . . ?

【你用什么交換呢？】

Von Croy：I will grant you vigor as those around you fall. You shall command the ultimate power: that of life or death over those you choose at your side. And in return they will bow at your feet and give worship.

【我賜予你無(wú)上的榮耀，周圍的蕓蕓眾生都會(huì)拜倒在你的腳下。你將執(zhí)掌最高權(quán)力：隨心所欲決定人們的生死。因此他們都會(huì)對(duì)你頂禮膜拜，無(wú)限崇敬?！?/p>

Lara：Got my fair share of that already. And besides. . . give a jackal your hand and he'll bite off the whole arm.

【我已經(jīng)得到了我所應(yīng)得的一切。另外……把一只手伸給豺狼的話，它會(huì)咬掉你整個(gè)胳膊?！?/p>

（“my fair share”是個(gè)讓TombCrow很是頭疼的表達(dá)方式。經(jīng)加納同學(xué)Irene的解釋，當(dāng)一個(gè)人說(shuō)起“my fair share”的時(shí)候，通常就是要求自己應(yīng)得的那一半。換句話說(shuō)，意思就是當(dāng)前的瓜分方式是不公平的，“我理應(yīng)得到我所應(yīng)得的份額”。這樣一來(lái)Lara的話就不難理解了。注意臺(tái)詞中“Got my fair share”前面顯然是省略了“I've”，這句話的完整意思應(yīng)當(dāng)是“我已經(jīng)得到了我所應(yīng)得的份額”。聯(lián)系上下文，Lara的言下之意就是說(shuō)她一無(wú)所求，對(duì)Von Croy的交換條件完全不感興趣。

至于后面那句，“give a jackal your hand”的意思應(yīng)當(dāng)是把手伸給豺狼。根據(jù)TombCrow的理解，向?qū)Ψ缴焓謶?yīng)該是與對(duì)方和解或者結(jié)盟的友好表示。而豺狼對(duì)此的反應(yīng)則是咬掉對(duì)方的整個(gè)手臂。因此，永遠(yuǎn)都不必幻想與豺狼之流和平共處，否則只會(huì)引狼入室，惹禍上身。豺狼當(dāng)然是惡的象征，這里指賽特，或者說(shuō)Von Croy。因此，TombCrow認(rèn)為L(zhǎng)ara的這句話所要表達(dá)的就是她永遠(yuǎn)都不會(huì)與賽特或Von Croy結(jié)盟的決心。）

Lara取走護(hù)身符，將Von Croy（或者說(shuō)賽特）關(guān)在了門里，里面?zhèn)鱽?lái)豺狼的咆哮聲

Lara：Barking mad.
